Keep Hope

39 days ago | 26 - Mar - 2026 | (5)

It's been a while since I have last written. Academic Pressure seems to be increasing exponentially. Remember the project we have been preparing? At first it was rejected by the faculty since it was an incomplete project. Farzat Bhai completed the project within just one day and then we submitted it to our course teacher. He told us that only top three from the class will go to the next round of the Project Show. Yes, CSE Project Show Fall-25. And he said that he already selected top three from our section. He added that if the department allowed, he would select four projects from our section. Why? Because he felt that our project deserves to be selected. After that, our semester final held. We have passed 90% of our semester break and still got no update. And we already lost our hope. 1 or 2 days before the new semester classes started, we got an email and it said that top 4 projects from our class was selected for the project show's next round. And guess what? Our team name was included in that list :) . These 4 teams are then required to submit a demonstration video of their project. And based on those videos, only 1 or 2 projects will be selected as the top 10 projects in the entire university. Those 10 teams will participate in the final Project show. Unfortunately, we got the email of selection at the very last moment. We had only 6 hours to make a video and submit. We made a video on our project and then submitted. It was Ramadan time, we had our sehri and we were preparing for sleep. At that time, we received an email from our faculty saying that our video needs to demonstrate not only the functionalities but also show the backend part of the project. Our eyes were heavy since we were preparing to sleep after Sehri. But time is running out. Only 3 hours remaining before the deadline. We somehow made something we don't even know what it was xD. We submitted that final video at the very last minute of the deadline. It was a close call. Some days later, we received another email saying that our project is selected as the top 10 projects in the entire university. And out of those top 4 teams in our class, we were the only team selected as the top 10. We were shocked :) . Literally!!! The project which was rejected, is now one of the top 10. We are now preparing for the final project show. Farzat bhai and I were in an important meeting. Planning to add some more features that will make the project more useful. We worked day and night till the project show date. We added some more features successfully. And then all the team members were in a big confusion. Should we wear Formal Dress or should we wear Casual??? Pretty nice debate within us xD. We came to a decision. We are wearing Semi-Formal on that day. At the day of project show. We were sitting in the classroom with other teams. Farzat Bhai, sitting at my back bench, still offering some features he could add immediately xD. I told him, "Bro, if the project crashes now, we are doomed. Remember the engineers motto? Don't touch if it's working". Our judges started to call the team names randomly one after another. We were called after 5 teams. We successfully presented our project. We were told that the price giving ceremony will be held after 2 days. At the day of price giving ceremony, me and another team member went to the multipurpose room. After some time, Farzat Bhai joined us. The other member could not come since his class was going on. We were so hopefully waiting and wished if we could be in the top 5 teams. Unfortunately, we were not called as the top 5 teams. But still we are not sad. We are not sad because this had been a total mess from the very beginning. Nothing was going perfect. The project was already rejected by the faculty. We were not even given any instruction or tips and tricks by our faculty. Still we could made to the top 10 all on our own. We consider it as a big achievement for us. I learned something from this entire event - "Keep hope :)"

The Savior

A month has been passed since I have last written. I have been too much busy with the trimester finals. It was unexpected that this one would be a really short trimester. Everything rushed at the end. Our Database Management Systems (DBMS) Lab project was announced two weeks before the final. It was a group project. Minimum 4 members needed per team. But there were only three members in my team. We have been looking for a team member but could not decide whom to take. Everyone has their own team of 4 members. We were so busy with the other courses that we could not do anything regarding the project. One week passed without doing anything in the project. The following week, I decided to pause every other courses temporarily and plan the project. I called for a meeting. Me and my other two friends joined Google Meet to plan the project and design the relational database. I explained them the whole idea of the project and provided them their own tasks. They started working for the database side, I started working for the server side programming. We were lacking one member for frontend side. The same week, we were attending the DBMS Lab class as usual. I was seating in the front row. One of my teammates called me to the back row and introduced me with a new guy. His name was 'Farzat'. Senior trimester student. He had been looking for a team. He was alone. And luckily we needed only one member. I asked him if he knows any frontend works. He showed me his other projects which he did for freelancing tasks. I was impressed. Took him in the team without a second thought. I told him to work only for the frontend. The next day, I called him in a Google Meet and made him understand the concept of the project. He understood and started pushing frontend related codes to the project repository. Everything was going fine but the acutal problem was me :) . I was worried about the courses I had paused for the project. Only one week remaining before the finals. I have assignments, reports, Class Tests for other courses along with this huge project. I passed two sleepless nights just to handle all these at the same time. Unfortunately, I could not finished the project. The frontend and the database were done but I was not able to connect the frontend with the database in the server side. The other members were not in pressure since they were working for the easier side of the project. The actual hard side of the project was the backend side. I took some other hard courses this trimester. I could not complete them all at once. The final day of submitting the project has finally come. But the project is still incomplete. All the teams showed their project one by one. We were the only team remaining. The faculty called us and asked why we were not showing our project. We showed him how much we did. He said it was not enough as a project. We asked him if he could increase the deadline by one day so that we could do some more work. He agreed but at a cost of some marks as penalty. I was totally hopeless. And already started to believe that only one day is not enough. I was thinking that we are gonna lose these marks for sure. But, sometimes, god gives us a second chance. Here's how he saved me and my teammates. Getting out of the classroom Farzat told me, "Brother you just say 'yes' and I will rewrite the whole project in PHP within just one day. Everything will be functional I promise." I was shocked and thought how is it event possible. The whole project backend was initially written in Python. We used PostgreSQL for the database and HTML, CSS, JS for the frontend. I asked him, "Bro, is it even possible to rewrite in just a day?" He replied in the affirmative. I immediately started to transfer all my ideas to him related to the project frontend, backend and database. We sat on the canteen and talked for an hour. He assured that everything will be possible before the deadline. We went back home, Farzat texted in the project team's whatsapp group, "Brother could you please send me the SQL queries?" I sent him all the SQL queries and after that he went totally offline. We could not know any of his whereabouts. The next day, he came online and texted in the project whatsapp group, "Brother, everything is done!" We were like, "What!" He said, "Yes you can check the project website." All of us checked and found everything working as we planned initially. I could not but thank him with all of my heart. He is really a savior for us. Thanks to Allah for getting me such a helpful teammate. Before that deadline, we went to our Faculty with the project. He approved it and praised our project idea. I was happy. We all were happy. We were saved. The marks were deducted a little bit. But it was better than getting a 'Zero.' I started to believe that some person come our life just to save us from a big loss. Taking Farzat in our team was the best decision I made in years. By the way, I address him as "Farzat Bhai" with all my respect. Thank you Farzat Bhai. :)

Childhood Dreams

There was a time when people of my country did not know much about technologies. Mobile phones, computers, Televisions meant super luxurious life. I don't belong to a super luxurious family. There had been no smartphones, only a button phone. I could use a smartphone only when any rich relatives came to visit our house. From that time, I was in love with technologies. I often explored what else can we do with this things. More importantly, how do these things actually work. As a result, I was the only one in my family who knows everything about mobile phones and their settings and functionalities. Whenever any problem occurred in any mobile phones, everyone came to me for a solution. And luckily every problem was so simple that they were solved just by tweaking some settings. :P The love towards technologies increased day by day. I got in touch with some computers of my friends and relatives. I explored each and every features that computers had. Still, that question roams in my mind - how do these things actually work? How are they made? I want to be a maker of these things. By the way, Anyone facing any difficulties in computers, reaches me in no time ;) Childhood's not finished yet. Internet connection is still a luxurious thing in that time. But I already started to dream of becoming someone who makes this things. Few years later, I got my own mobile phone. Internet is a bit more available everywhere. My phone was an android smartphone. Very low specs but still usable. I came to know that mobile phones and computers are run by softwares. Each apps we use, is a software. I started loving softwares. One day I searched how to make softwares. I learned that software are made using programming. I researched more on programming and learned about programming languages and how to learn them. Then I came to know that it's full of logics, mathematics and in general it's an Engineering. Computer Science and Engineering. This is the only way to become what I wanted to be from the childhood. A software engineer. I finally got to know what they are called who makes softwares. I want to be a software engineer. I had no computer, but I learned programming using my mobile phone. My programming language is Python. I created a Discord bot with many features. It was purely written on python. Still no PC. :) After getting admitted to UIU. I got my first Personal Computer. I can now do programming with much flexibility and ease. My childhood dream: I want to be a software engineer. :)

The Beginning

28 December, 2025. The year is about to end. Fresh and cold winter morning. Sitting in front of my desk. Writing down the start of a new journey. The journey to achieve a new goal. I have recently opened a CodeForces Account. I'm a beginner. Just solved some 800 to 1000 rated problems. Then I started to explore the CodeForces sites. Visited some top rated profiles and made a wish inside my mind. Maybe I will be one of them one day. I Clicked on the very last page number of the home page posts. I saw the CodeForces owner's very first post. It was about introducing CodeForces. After that, he posted several times, sharing his journey to Beijing from Moscow. The journey was about the ICPC programming Contest which he was participating in. I got inspired from his journey. So, I am writing this today. The inspiration hit me up and the ambition developed instantly and I managed to make this site in just 6 hours. Needs development but still usable. Now, my goal is to reach at least one International Competition and do something remarkable. I will be sharing memories and moments of my journey here in this site. This is the beginning. It will be hard. It will take so much patience and time. But, nothing (worldly) fears me from achieving this. I will one day reach my desired level. INGSHAA'ALLAH.
